The Kruger Brothers are a bit of a mystery to some. Brothers Jens and Uwe were born and raised in Europe, growing up and learning folk songs and falling in love with American music. Joel Landsberg, a Brooklyn, N.Y. native, joined Jens and Uwe in Switzerland, playing together since 1995. Their musical style encompasses and converges multiple genres. The synthesis of genres appeals to a wide array of audience-goers, from bluegrass, folk, and Americana to European classical influences.
Gabriele Weber and Brigitte Bernhard, also known as Dames Don’t Care, made a film investigating the personal side of the Kruger Brothers, their life before coming to the U.S., and their life in the U.S. The Dames sought to share the joy and love the Kruger Brothers bring to their audiences with their music.
